Summary0000582: More than 5 votes for a review does not make a review valid anymore.
DescriptionBefore, one needed to have 5 votes for a particular review in order to unlock the hidden value of it and showing the average of the votes.
Currently, even with 5 or more votes, the review rating still doesn`t show and the '# of votes' don`t update. This seems to be only with reviews which have received its 5th vote somewhere near the end of 2006 or later.
Additional InformationAn example where the 5th vote, which should make the rating visible, was casted in October 2006:
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=animeatt&aid=3499#4203
September 2006:
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=animeatt&aid=3395#4155
which seems like the problem started between 7 and 14 September 2006.

This is intended behaviour and a consequence of the new rating system. Whether it's desirable is another question, personally I think that waiting for one more vote won't kill anyone.

Not quite; http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=animeatt&aid=3499&attid=4203&votelist=1 this review has 5 valid votes, but still lists only 4 of them, not making the review 'valid', while it should be approved.
You should look into it at least, since the new system doesn`t prove flawless - not to mention I`m not really in favor of the new system in the first place ;)

so is this a bug?

Personally, I think so. Pelican thinks otherwise, but he won`t tell what the current specifics are for a vote to become (in)valid with the new rating system.
So, as long he doesn`t explain why it isn`t a bug yet insists it isn`t one, and doesn`t clarify what the specifications are for a vote being (in)valid, I consider it a bug.

well gambit you are a normal user. and as that you don't have to know the specific details. considering peli coded it he should know best if it works or not. and as he says it works it should work.

anyway point is i don't consider this a bug

the logic for showing the rating thingie is still >=5 votes, maybe it was/is caching issues.

anyways the code is fine (just looked at it :P)
